At UPQODE, we delivered a clean, modern advocacy web design for NAGGL, based in Frisco, Texas. The website features intuitive navigation and a well-structured layout that highlights key resources, training programs, and events. Built on WordPress, the site is fully responsive and optimized with WP Rocket and Rank Math SEO to ensure fast performance and strong search visibility. Subtle animations and clear calls-to-action enhance user engagement without compromising speed or usability. This tailored advocacy web design effectively supports NAGGL’s mission by providing a seamless and professional online experience.
The National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) is a respected membership-based organization committed to advocacy and education surrounding the SBA 7(a) Loan Program. For nearly four decades, NAGGL has served as the unified voice for over 800 banks, credit unions, and non-depository lenders. Their mission is to keep the 7(a) program viable, well-funded, and accessible to small business borrowers across the nation. In addition to strong advocacy efforts, NAGGL provides industry-leading SBA education, unlimited technical assistance, and support in navigating policy and program complexities. As the backbone of the 7(a) lending industry, they are a vital partner for lenders nationwide.
The main goal of the project was to create a modern, professional advocacy web design that reflects NAGGL’s leadership in the SBA lending community while making it easy for members and visitors to access crucial resources. The site needed to clearly communicate NAGGL’s mission, enhance the visibility of their educational programs and events, and streamline access to technical assistance and membership services. Providing a seamless user experience across all devices and offering an easy-to-manage backend for NAGGL’s internal team were also key objectives.
At UPQODE, we anchored our redesign of NAGGL’s site in proven web‑design principles – functionality over flair, clarity over clutter – ensuring the site not only looks sharp but works for lenders and stakeholders.
We kept the design clean and minimalist, applying whitespace strategically to break content into digestible parts. Headlines and strong visual contrasts guide visitors naturally, letting them scan, understand, and act, true to the “simplicity” and “visual hierarchy” best practices that prioritize important elements first
The top-level menu focuses only on essential categories – Advocacy, Training & Events, News & Resources, Membership, and About Us – reducing complexity to avoid overwhelming users.

We designed standout primary CTAs – “Become a Member,” “Learn More,” and “Join Today,” which are strategically placed throughout the site. These calls-to-action use consistent styling and subtle micro-interactions to draw attention without distracting from the content.
Built responsively from the ground up, the site adapts gracefully across devices: the horizontal desktop nav becomes a clean mobile “hamburger” menu, images scale fluidly, and CTAs remain touch‑friendly, addressing crucial mobile usability and accessibility standards
We established unified typography, color palette, and iconography throughout. Whether reviewing the News or the Advocacy page, users experience a consistent visual tone, reinforcing NAGGL’s credibility, aligned with key cohesion principles.
Text is broken into short paragraphs with clear headings, bullet lists, and icons. Our choice of legible, open sans fonts ensures even dense content, like loan-program overviews, is accessible and inviting to read.
Interactive elements like “Become a Member,” “Learn More,” and “Join Today” use subtle hover effects, such as soft color fades, to enhance usability without distracting from the clean design.
On pages like Training & Events and Advocacy, scroll-triggered animations (gentle fades and slide-ins) add smooth visual flow. These lightweight transitions keep the site engaging while maintaining fast performance across all devices.
By combining these foundational design principles with NAGGL’s mission-driven content, we delivered a website that’s polished, fast, and easy to use, reinforcing trust and positioning NAGGL as the authoritative voice in SBA 7(a) lending.
The website was developed on WordPress to allow flexibility and easy content management. To support performance, we implemented WP Rocket, a leading caching plugin that ensures fast load times across all devices. For search engine optimization, we integrated Rank Math SEO, enabling better visibility and easier management of metadata and keywords.
The site is fully responsive, ensuring excellent usability on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
The backend was carefully configured to allow for managing content, updating training schedules, and posting updates without requiring technical assistance. Despite the depth of content, the admin interface remains simple and intuitive, supporting long-term maintainability.
The finished website successfully reflects NAGGL’s position as the authoritative voice in SBA 7(a) lending. It provides a seamless and accessible user experience for members and stakeholders while reinforcing the organization’s mission. With faster page speeds, better SEO capabilities, and a mobile-friendly design, the new platform supports NAGGL’s growth and outreach goals. Most importantly, it has become a powerful tool for delivering value to members through improved navigation, engaging content presentation, and better access to training and advocacy resources.
